my favorite recently new feature is putting random trending videos in my recommended. shite that has nothing to do with what i watch.

always 1 or 2 days old with a few hundred thousand+ views. junk like some randoms getting married, or someone quitting youtube who i have never heard of. i hope there is no limit on how many channels you can tell it to not recommend.

The ads have gotten so bad. I’ll get 2 30 seconds ads to watch a 2 minute video.

Only thing worse is the ESPN app. Between ads on every video and their refusal to make highlight videos of an entire game, it’s terrible.

I don’t know man. I use YT everyday and I couldn’t care less about the feature you’re talking about.

I've got youtube premium, I have no clue what features they have. I just watch videos to learn shite.

This is nothing compared to removing Google My Business as a standalone app/page to being integrated with....maps

Has made managing business info much more frustrating

YouTube’s goal is to make money and maximize shareholder value

Older videos likely have less ad revenue potential. And some hotshot MBA/Bean Counter probably put together some nice little PowerPoint about how they could potentially drive up annual ad revenue by 4% or some shite if they remove the ability to search target older videos. Steering customers away from video content when ads either weren’t implemented or content was less likely to be built around incorporating it. Probably with the secondary benefit of pushing content creators to constantly add more stuff since it will now be even harder to find older content

I agree that it is shite, but the reasoning likely has to do with that. And the fact this is simply what happens with market domination. Eventually some bean counter will come up with the idea to leverage their market position to strategically inconvenience, gouge, or take advantage of the user base a little bit more and more in the name of chasing ever increasing profit margins

I just subscribed to youtube music which came with youtube premium.

I wouldn't watch youtube if I had to run through all the ads. TD and Youtube are pretty much my two sites, rarely do anything else.

Plus there is no option to categorize your subscriptions which users have been screaming about for years now.

YouTube is great but it’s run by morons.

I imagine this is part of why Amazon changed their music, but it wasn't even "free", as it was part of a Prime membership

Another problem I have noticed recently is that the most recent videos don’t appear at all on my subscriptions. I have Premium.

my fav combo is the local ad before the 2 skippable ads at the start and then the unskippable 1min30 ad at the best part of the video.

Youtube has removed the option to reverse sort a channels videos from newest to oldest.

When you say “reverse sort” from “newest to oldest”….do you mean you can’t sort from oldest to newest?

I barely notice ads. I must watch entirely unpopular shite that they don't tag for ads or something. Seems like there's 1 to 2 5-15 second ads on the first video I watch and then I don't hardly see any ads after that until the next time the app is opened. Even then, you can usually skip 5 seconds into the second ad, or first ad if only one.

When your number one goal isn't to make the best product, you'll have this. So much focus is now on social issues.

It isn't just Google. Look at public schools, look at our roads and infrastructure in this country.
