It's not like the Disney version is the original. The animated Disney movie is drastically different than the Hans Christian Andersen story. So I've got no issue with yet another version.

So if you change Ariel to black, that means 16% of the Disney princesses will be black, 50% white, 34% other minorities

Nothing. What wrong with her being black? If they opens up auditions and the best actress won the part who cares. Ariel isn’t a historical figure. Her race is meaningless

Disney executives jerk it to ESG powerpoints. There is 1,000,000% a distinct agenda in all of Disney's decision. It's cost them dearly. But...it's not about the money. It's about righting all the wrongs...they've been told are wrong.
