owlfan should donate the excess funds to a charitable cause like honkus did
a minority charity in the greater houston area seems appropriate

I'd love to chat with and some of
the others that have gone through this
I plan to do just that. When I can get my spam e-mail back up and going, I’ll post it and we can get in contact. Frankly, I am still kinda self conscious about my speech, so I try to do most stuff in writing.

Update?
I go home on Monday apparently that's a very quick recovery they've checked me out on all the things I need to do at home like dress myself shower cook wipe my arse etc.
Been able to walk 5 to 10 ft without a walker It's ugly walking in stutter steps but it's building strength in the leg
Speech continues to improve although late in the evening it becomes slurred but I consider that a good sign because it's for muscle exhaustion which is something I can work on over the next few months
the right arm can be moved I still have no movement in the hand or fingers but a month ago I was excited about movement in my toes and now I'm kind of walking
the time I've been here I've managed not to piss or shite myself so I called consider that a win.

Yes definitely progress I wonder how many of you have managed not to piss or shite yourself the past month?

That’s excellent, Owlie, I take it you are going to continue therapy on an outpatient basis?

Home visits and outpatient when and if I get approval from Medicare
I picked a bad time to have a stroke unemployed and a worldwide pandemic

You will get approval...I got approval for a couple of months of additional therapy myself. You should apply for disability immediately

Graduating from rehab.
That is a positive step because you are moving toward independence. You are going to get through it, Owlie.

Crap. Picked up wife’s iPad and left a message. Deleted it. Sorry.
It said I hated it in there with their checklists and watching you do everything. I understand why the had to do it now but I didn’t back then. I felt outraged and invaded. Watched me take a shower, shite, brush my teeth, eat, drink, graded me on everything.
I liked outpatient rehab a lot better. I was just so impatient to get better. It doesn’t work that way.
Baby steps.
