People probably asked for refunds after seeing rummy post about a Rolex.

Just my guess.

One of my donations just got refunded.

WHY

Didn’t you confess to using an alias for one of your donations? That’s why.

Because it's a douche theory. You've been here for a few months - kick the tires a bit before throwing that kinda shite around.

The campaign organizer and beneficiary will always be able to see your name and comment if you left one, even if your donation is anonymous to the public. This is for transparency reasons.

Please note, you are required to enter the name on the credit card you are using even if you plan to make your donation anonymous. Using a name other than what is on the credit card you’re donating with may result in your donation being refunded.

I think he means you have to use your real name for account creation, but you can use an alias for any specific donation list. If that's the case, it may only be a few people who just wanted no ties to their real name (except the CC info I guess.)

do you think that people were dumb enough to enter credit card information that did not match their account?

Wait... Please do not answer that question

Full disclosure, I definitely donated under someone else's name

But mine is still sitting there.

Correct. But did you signup using the same name as what's on your card initially when creating your account, and then use an alias when making the donation?

I think at least one person, and I have a good idea who, was doing it just to try and be funny.

I think my CC probably thought it was fraud after a bunch of donations under aliases instead of one.

I didn't sign up at all. I just donated. I of course entered my real name for the actual credit card info, but I definitely use someone else's name for display portion

Interesting.

I made a smaller joke donation with an alias, but I don't have a GFM account. You don't have to have one to donate.

This. My billing info obviously had my real name, but the donation name was a silly one. I have to guess people use names that don't match their CC for the donation name all the time. "LOVE, YOUR AUNT TEETEE" or whatever.
