I have some UA shirts that won't die.
I have a bunch of UA Tech t-shirts that are probably 10 years old and still wear well. Years ago they changed the composition of the material and the newer ones aren't even close to the quality but the Heat Gear Charged Cotton T's are very nice, very comfortable and can be purchased at the UA Outlets for around $12.

I know where you can get a deal on Bama 2016 National Champ T's.

Target sells a Champion sports brand cotton t-shirt that I really like. I have a couple I have had for probably 3-4 years with no shrinkage or neck stretching issues. It is a tagless shirt with a small Champion "C" on the left chest but embroidered in the same color as the shirt.
Cant remember how much they are, but I think around $10

Get you a Hanes ribbed undershirt. Here's a pic of me and my buddies wearing ours.

Nike regular t-shirts (non-drifit) are pretty solid.
I second the Banana Republic outlet tees but that seems a little much for yard work.

Don't be a dandy. Go to Wal Mart and buy the cheapest white v-neck t-shirts that you can find.

^ FTW. Don't wear down at all. do yourself a favor and stock up around christmas at a UA outlet if you have one in your area. Caught 'em on sale this past year for $12. Add in a 50% coupon and i got 10 shirts for $72 after tax. Only stuff I wear for anything around the house/working out related

Next Level Apparel.
Found out about them on reddit when conducting my own search for the perfect tee. They fit and feel perfect. This site has them on the cheap.
