Your DNA is not a good predictor of health

Your DNA is not your destiny -- or a good predictor of your health
We are approaching near 50% obesity rates in America. Statistically, half of this board are fat, troll like, baws. Why do you avoid exercising and eating a healthy diet? Are the big macs and bud lights worth losing 10 years of your life?
I work 50-60 hours a week, help raise a child, and manage to lift weights for an hour 5 days a week. You have no excuse.
Go to the fricking gym

In the largest meta-analysis ever conducted, scientists have examined two decades of data from studies that examine the relationships between common gene mutations, also known as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and different diseases and conditions. And the results show that the links between most human diseases and genetics are shaky at best.
"Simply put, DNA is not your destiny, and SNPs are duds for disease prediction," said David Wishart, professor in the University of Alberta's Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Computing Science and co-author on the study. The vast majority of diseases, including many cancers, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease, have a genetic contribution of 5 to 10 per cent at best

Despite these rare exceptions, it is becoming increasingly clear that the risks for getting most diseases arise from your metabolism, your environment, your lifestyle, or your exposure to various kinds of nutrients, chemicals, bacteria, or viruses," explained Wishart.

Statistically speaking, you’re a fat frick so you have to prove you aren’t before you come out talking like that.

How much time are you fitting in for church because you’re a judgmental a-hole?

Healthy relationships with women and full custody of children get in the way of gains.

We don't give a shite what you do, just like you shouldn't give a shite what we do. I'm not fat btw. I just think meatheads, like vegans, always shove their lifestyle in your face. Yes, America is fat. We get it.

Yeah but the 10 years you lose are the final ones (75-85) when everything on your body hurts and you can't do anything but sit around and watch the younger generations do even dumber shite than the current generation.
So yeah, it's worth it.

I’m pretty sure there is a ton of research showing the opposite from this study. You would think people would stop grabbing on to one random study to try and prove their narrative right knowing it probably isn’t so. The things are so easily manipulated or just faulty in a one off scenario. The majority of evidence plus the majority of anecdotal/observable information says this is bull.

Weight is caused by genetics
But iq and crime is determined by purely economic factors

I value sleep over anything else with my free time. Before baby girl got here in September I was at gym 5 days a week. Now I’m lucky if I get 1 day a week. I will get back into soon but right now priorities are family and sleep.
