haha, most women secretly hate sex, so she' probably hit the jackpot. One question, does he work, or on disability? if he doesn't have a good job, then I can see the dad's issue with it.

Really no difference between your takes man.
To start I wasn’t pissed at all. At the end of the day, be with whoever you want.
I just didn’t get it, but still approached it with an open mind, and would never have told her anything negative about it. If she’s happy, she’s happy.

He lives in a nice building in nyc and is an investment banker. Also comes from old money and is insanely wealthy.

haha, I'd push my daughter into that! There's an old saying, you can marry more money in a minute than you can earn in a lifetime.

I hear ya man. Was just jabbing you a bit
One of my friends, her parents have been married for 45 or so years and the mom is in a wheelchair and has been for 20 years. They still travel to Europe and other places often. That would certainly weigh on my personally b/c it's tough so props to those who can do it.

But then I met him and he’s awesome. Really cool guy who just got in a car accident 15 years ago and is paralyzed in his legs.
They’re serious now and so she told her dad who is irate. He says she shouldn’t be with him and the the guy should only be with other handicapped ppl. The dad told her she was ruining the family. He’s refused to even meet the boyfriend (who will likely become son in law).
Dad is a dick.
As said, I could understand having some concern that his daughter may be getting into something she can’t handle (taking care of someone who is disabled) but he also has money of his own and comes from a wealthy family? She’s going to be just fine.

She actually wants to sign a prenup because she doesn’t feel comfortable marrying into that kind of money

Dad is probably just upset at thinking about the renovations that will be needed to have his daughter visit...

I'm confused as to why you would have the question why.

Why would anyone not want their child to be with someone in a wheelchair?
Not going to lie -there would be a natural function in my brain immediately weighing the odds that this could potentially make my child's life more difficult, expensive, can they provide?, can they protect?, etc. That's normal parent brain function and a major physical disability would be naturally factored in just like any other factors that could present challenges for my child.
That would, of course, not cause me to try and prevent my child from being with someone that they care for/cares for them. This girl's father sounds like a complete a-hole.
