What does the Mexican community think about the black vs white "rivalry" going on now? And do y'all have a rivalry, or are y'all kinda like the LSU of races?

There are many reasons, one of the major ones being that the majority of these children come from single parent homes and have no positive male role models in their lives.

To be honest, the juvenile system needs to be fixed because it is detrimental to youth regardless of their race.

And poor people just can't keep blaming society, the judicial system, etc. We are all fallible human beings. Structures don't make or break us. They play a part, but so does personal responsibility.

As for prisons, prisons aren't meant for rehabilitation anymore. Their purposes are security and containment. Most young offenders consider prison a stepping stone for more street cred. You have to catch these kids before they get there, and that mostly starts at home.

I'm not saying this girl can't rehabilitate. I'm just saying, at her age, and by looking at the stuff linked in this thread, the percentages are certainly not in her favor.

For starters, I'm not Mexican.

I do know that Hispanics/Latin Americans can be pretty racist against black people, especially out west where Mexican and Central American gangs are taking over the drug market in ruthless fashion.

I think your warped view of society and how to maintain a harmonious working society can be summed up and corrected with one simple change. The purpose of incarceration is not to help or protect the offender, it's to protect the rest of us and punish the offender. I could care less if the offender in that video is mentally ill, unloved, misguided, or remorseful for that matter. To protect me, you, and the rest of society she needs consequences and she'll get them thanks to the genius practice of filming your crime these days in order to brag about it.
