It's a shame that it takes suffering to make you appreciate joy.

I love the days when I stop, relax and realize how lucky I am. Those are the days that remind me to enjoy the days I have.

Hope all is well.

If you are comfortable with explaining, some may benefit from your experience.

If not, that is okay.

Thanks for the post.

It's easy to forget about the simple things in life.

I know we have a very stupid country that voted the horse haired clown into office, but no reason to be like this.

Well put, Breesus. Took my four year old fishing today. Was an awesome experience watching him catch his first speckled trout. Your words sum that feeling up nicely.

One thing that I love about working in healthcare is that it keeps you grounded when it comes to what's important in life.

You feel pretty terrible bemoaning petty problems after talking to a cancer patient.

Without suffering there would be no good days. Life is a balance.

Well I woke up today and my name was not in the obituaries so that's always a good sign.

I spent the day at a pool party with a bunch of 18-22 year olds... interesting day to say the least.... I realized that I'm glad I'm an old timer and appreciate the wisdom I've gained. Just hearing their issues and stories reminded me how many bump in the roads they don't even realize they have ahead of them.

Chicks were sexy af though

Took my seven year old fishing Friday evening. First few spots not much. Then last spot was loaded with redfish. Between 7:15 and dark as fast as we could cast they were consistently biting. We have a few country songs that are "our" songs. Watching You, My Old Man and Best day of my Life (all dad and son songs) and such that I have on a playlist. All three songs we both were fighting fish at the same time. He told me afterwards that he said a prayer that we would catch on those songs. Was the best 2-3 hours of my life. Made me really enjoy life and will reach for that memory quite often.
