I really should send the whole administration a catered lunch. Free content is hard to come by in the world of comedy these days.

It would absolutely suck to be BRPD or EBRSO officer these days. Respect, because there is no way in Hell that I could that job right now.

Slush funds. A shite load of fed money has been going to these front groups.

Boom, there you have it.

They floated the idea this week of charging a fee to clean ditches. That’s something they are supposed to do anyway .Meanwhile thousands go to these shadow groups who pay themselves handsomely to fix social problems.

My call to action for a Week of Peace extends beyond this week. We know that there are a number of root causes influencing violence in our community that we must continue to address. We will continue to uplift community organizations that take a holistic approach to addressing violence. It is an opportunity for us all to encourage de-escalation. Throughout this week, we have engaged and activated several community organizations who were on the ground providing & amplifying intervention & prevention by leveraging community resources that are available for residents. We are going to keep working for peace. We are in this together and healing together.

This week:

* 100 Black Men held peace walks in the 70802, 70805, and 70806 zip codes

* Baton Rouge Community Street Team attended vigils and held a community canvassing event with United Excel to leverage available community resources that aim towards intervention and prevention

* Members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. hosted a community peace walk engaging community members to walk in unity towards justice against acts of violence

* United Excel held a community march

* United Christian Faith Ministries called community members together in prayer

* Safe Hopeful Healthy BR hosted its Community Based Public Safety Ecosystem meeting, engaging dozens of community organizations around ways we can continue to support and empower youth through available upcoming summer programming

* Safe Hopeful Neighborhoods' Operation Cleanup is touching four districts across EBR: District 3, District 5, District 10, District 11; improving blight and addressing root causes of violence

Community marches and vigils. We might as well release a few balloons while we are at it.

No, we aren’t in this together. We are subjected to it and have nothing to do with it. If we were really in this together we could have an honest discussion about it

So after a week everyone can go back to violence? She is a fricking moron. Seriously I think the only people who support her the most is white liberals.

Yeah I want us to go scorched earth on violent criminals. The weeks of peace aren't working.

Just this month alone we have had 3, 4, and 5-year-old homicide victims.

Yeah, but none by a white police officer, so it’s really not that big of a deal to the community “leaders” & activists
