Kind of want... 17k miles.
*Wrong year. It's a '93. '94-'96 had the LT1. Much better.
Remember these well when they were new. Awesome highway cruisers.

I've been on BaT for about 8 years now. I've bid on a few things and never won, but my mom did buy her 2008 Cayenne Turbo on there about 3 years ago and it's been an awesome car.
A buddy of mine back in Montana bought this truck earlier this year and he loves it, it's exactly what it was presented to be and he said the nuts and bolts of paying for and getting the vehicle were very simple.
Cars And Bids has emerged as a more "normal" alternative to BaT, generally less of the high-dollar stuff and more of your interesting everyday cars.

It’s a car auction website. I’ve been on the hunt for my first unnecessary car and been browsing around they got some real neat stuff; you can even find trucks and bikes here. Anyone ever bid on auctions?
Just know this, BAT just assumes that everything the seller posts is true about the vehicle. Once the vehicle is in your possession, then you are SOL and BAT will not help you if the seller misrepresented the vehicle. They will maybe refund you the fees that they make off of the sale, but that's the absolute furthest they will go and you are on your own.
With that said, most of what people offer for sale on BAT will truthfully tell you about the vehicle, you just have to be careful and do your own due diligence.

Does your mom like the cayanne turbo? They seem to be depreciating hard and very tempting as a family car

Actually just won an auction that happened last week. A Dodge 2500.
Waiting to hear back from the seller; haven’t heard anything yet and it’s been a few days.

Yes, and I do too. It's a very cool car. Highly recommend. Even an older one like hers has all the features you could realistically want in a car and it's a pretty good road trip hauler. They are comfortable and ride well, have hilarious power, it sounds like a speedboat when you start it up, and you generally feel like the king of the road when you're behind the wheel.
Need to pass someone? Need to shoot a gap in traffic? Just wanna GTFO?
Just put your foot down and you're teleported down the road. It DRIVES like a Porsche too, even though she's a big heavy thing. Very athletic for what it is.
Only real downsides are 13 MPG and obviously high repair bills when things come up, but Porsches are solid cars in general and the older Cayennes are pretty overbuilt so it's not a vehicle that will be breaking all the time. As long as you can deal with the running costs, they make a very cool daily and are a ton of car for the money.

What you think a family car is baw if it ain’t a full size suv?

There’s one particular car I am super interested in, felt cheap but I am sensing most bids happen in the last hour and this is still days away.
I call it the two minute double up. Every bid extends the auction by two minutes. It is very common for the auctions to double in price during this extended time.
(also know a lot of cars on there don't sell because of reserves)
