I've been out of the military 15years, so I'm graying and pretty out of shape and ate up looking. I just had some motherfricker basically question me for stolen valor. Lowe’s has a few parking spots close to the door that say for US Veterans Only. I park there when I need to get in and out, because why not. Some young dude with a high & tight parked across from me about the same time. He kinda startled me on my way in when he said real loud “Thank you for your service!” I just kinda gave him the nod and kept going in the store as I was kinda in a hurry. He was on the phone, and I overheard him say, “Oh, I was talking to another guy that parked in the Veterans spot. He doesn’t look like one, but whatever.” I was thinking this mother fricker here, but just blew it off and went shopping. When I checked out and walked out, that dude was standing by his truck, and starting asking me a bunch of questions about when I served, my unit, etc. I basically told him to frick off, and why don’t he go question some old man with his Vietnam hat on. POS. Do you have to have Don't Tread On Me Stickers or a VFW hat to park there? Hell no, I should have told him to park in the bleeding vag parking spots by the other door. Pissed me off.

Just tape your DD-214 in your back window. On a serious note, I have never had anyone openly question my service but would likely just shrug it off.

People who call out others for stolen valor are almost as bad as those who commit stolen valor.

I shrugged off the first comment and went about my day just thinking whatever, but who the hell waits in this heat at his truck to openly question some stranger's military service when there's no indication there would be an issue?

It would be one thing if I were committing fraud to get something free from it, but when there's other empty parking spaces, who cares? I've just never had anybody question me like that. There's many veterans that don't draw attention to themselves. It just pissed me off. I got madder as I drove off and thought about it more.

Considering stolen valor is a thing, seems like most people think that actual veterans are lying about being vets.

He's an immature manchild, so don't pay him any mind.....and thanks for your service
