What's saddening is that it seems a lot of people are almost hoping it happens. It's like you just want a semi legal reason to shoot a black guy.
That is so true. The only comforting thing about that sentiment.... most of these rednecks DO NOT LIVE IN EBR.
"If them boys come a lootin off Range Road...." and so on.

By someone from out of town. Thats like saying Lee Harvey Oswald reflects poorly on Dallas.

Not that anyone gives a frick what I think but my wish/opinion is:
DOJ Comes back with NO criminal wrong doings. The locals come out and protest for a couple days at determined peaceful locations downtown, airline, and at Triple S.
Mayor and officials meet with the family and select LOCAL community leaders. Promises of cameras and policy improvements for de-escalation are put in place(I don't care if they give hug-a-thug a shot. see what happens).
BRPD and the City avoid civil trial with $500k-1m settlement, most of which goes into trusts for his children and his mother.
Nothing burns. Two officers go back to work. Real changes are made. Everyone gets along better going forward.

The terrorist shooter wasn't actually from Baton Rouge.

Unless outside agitators come in and start these riots there wont be any riots.
Your normal rioters are too lazy down here...

I'll agree with that except the last 2 sentences.

I agree with you except for the bold part. BR Taxpayers dont deserve to give any frickin money to that serial criminals estate.

You know it's gonna happen. The mayor is going to give away all kinds of government money. It's free!

It started a few years ago.
We're just making sure we are pretty well supplied before kicking it off.
Gonna be awkward as frick in ol' Rando's house. With the wife being biracial and all.

I know it is. But I sure ain't gonna hope for it and condone it. It will send a message to every thug with no real hope in life (which is many). About to get 3 strikes and you're out, and go back to jail for a while? Refuse to comply and go for your gun, so you can peace out and leave your family a bunch of cash, as well as die a hero in your community.
I'm hoping if shite goes down, a message will be sent to that community....be careful who you f*ck with, not everyone is a SJW. Then maybe thugs will think twice about trying to kill cops knowing that their family may get nothing more than an arse whooping and embarrassed.

Those two will never wear a BRPD uniform again. Hell, they'll likely never work in law enforcement again. It won't be due to the justice system, but rather the fact that the last year of their lives have been completely ruined over hoodrats and a justified shooting.
Come Tuesday, they'll be free of any criminal charges, but their ordeals are far from over.
Thankfully, most of the wastes of flesh protesting have no idea what their names are.

Another reason I'm glad I don't live in BR.
Good luck fellers.

Not sure if y'all realize there's a precedent for this in BR.
BRPD pays $495k to settle wrongful death civil suit

Harris was shot while moving the car after he smashed into various vehicles in the parking lot, including police cruisers. Magee said at the time he was worried for his safety, and those around him, so he opened fire. Harris was shot dead. Magee also suggested Harris had some sort of weapon.
