I would move to Missoula, or a place like that. Somewhere that has a young population (college town or similar), and that also has access to a ton of outdoor activities, while still having the amenities of a city. I would save money (and start contributing to retirement), but wouldn't live like a poor.
Getting out of Louisiana would be first on my to-do list. If you stay here and get married to someone from here, it's hard to leave when you start a family.

I definitely regret letting my relationship with my college gf have such a tremendous impact on my post-undergrad career path.

get a job as an engineer, slowly build your way up the corporate ladder (while quietly giving donations each month to the state administration).
Few years down the road, get the contracts for studies on the BR loop.
Spend the next 30 or so years of your occupational life conducting said study(ies).
Retire very wealthy, having never actually built loop.

Living with your parents and mooching off them while you work a good entry level job is one of the best ways to get a financial head start in life. Pay off your debts, build an emergency fund and save for a down payment on a starter home
You should have been doing that while you were in college, not after you graduate.

Definitely not have a History Degree and think a job was easily had after four years in the Army. I should have slapped 23-year old me around.

Went to work a week after graduating with my engineering degree. Big mistake, wish I had spent a few weeks in Tuscany first and dated some Italian women first. I have not had a vacation in the last 15 years.

Backpack around the world.
Once you start a real job and have kids, you'll never do it.
Its now or never.

I’d spent a year or two out west, in a ski town, or find something similar in the Far East. Working, a little, but mostly exploring.

First I would find a job. Most things start to fall in place after that

What type of Engineering, OP? I graduated with an engineering degree (Petroleum) in 2018 at 23 as well, and like you, I was not sure what to do. I never really wanted to work in that field - I naively switched from Computer Engineering to Petroleum after looking at salaries, but decided to finish the degree instead of switching later.
I have since pivoted to the Data Science/Analytics field, which has a lot of math and computer science (which is what I enjoy the most) and I love it. I'm hoping to find a fulltime job in the next few months.

Part of me wishes I would have gone into the navy working on the submarines as an engineer. Okay pay, no bills, great experience for when you get out, and usually retention bonuses if you stay longer.
Don’t get married before 25. Kids are great, but you have time for that. Invest in experiences, not things. Happiness fades from toys, but you’ll always remember fun times.
Get the frick out of Louisiana if you don’t have a reason to be here.
Maybe consider a hands on technician position in your field where you’ll travel. To be honest, unless you’re employed by a major corporation, your first years of engineering are bitch work. I could have made more money working as a field hand and work your way up. I worked with guys in their late 20s making $140k a year managing o&g service rigs that could barely spell. A decent crane operator willing to work in the middle of nowhere and pass a piss test can make that as well.
