You did. It was very apparent that California shutdown too soon.

I guess the data show that bars are way more likely to see transmission than dining areas.

While mass protests were fine

And magically 2-3 weeks after protests we have a spike

Protests will still be strong in force though.

Even though bars have no link.

Will encourage people to gather at homes and make it worse.

Florida did this Friday state wide. Mainly in response to the huge spike in cases in the 23-35 year old range.

Most states shut down too soon, and without good reason to shut down entire states.

Alot of states shut down so soon they had no first wave. Monkey see, monkey do and governors and mayors being so afraid to be seen as the one who didn't do enough dickered everything.

just seems like bars are low hanging fruit and this is just another "see? we are doing something!" move

feel bad for the bar owners

this is just the state picking winners and losers again

No bars. No sports. More riots.

agree with this.

I would think a place like an air-conditioned lowe's or home depot would be way worse than a bar.

Indoors, less social distancing, people get drunk and use poor judgment.

I'm surprised states are doing this, one of their largest tax generators.

People are more bunched up together in a bar and there for a longer period of time than shopping at Lowe’s. This increases their chance of exposure if say...the guy sitting at the bar next to them has COVID and won’t show symptoms until the next day (you are pretty infectious to others 48 hours prior to the start of your symptoms).

Also bars are smaller spaces than a wide open massive box store.

Anecdotally 100% of the photos I’ve seen from friends from bars involved not actually following the protocols- supposed to be table service etc... and instead people running around hugging on each other taking selfies
