Looks like Yeti’s IPO finished the day trading down 7%. Guess investors think them plant baws will cut down on their spending since Mr. Mandingo ain’t give them their foreman pay.

Exactly. People buy them for life, so you dont get repeat customers.

Dumb decision to take it public. The pressure to get away from their core product and lower costs will ruin the company.

But the founders got paid.

That lasts forever. It never breaks. You buy one and that’s it. They should’ve learned planned obsolescence like we taught the Japs after WW2

Not uncommon for an IPO to drop. Facebook did.

That's why they had to introduce so many accessories - had to add to the sales channel.

Or the company pissed off the plant baws so they aren't buying as much....along with cheaper alternatives that do just as well

Any IPO is just insiders cashing in. Plain and simple.

It's almost like they didn't understand their target audience. It was a head scratcher

I always thought they were a niche market, like Southern xyz polos and Salt Life stickers.

Quality, but expensive products that people will buy once in their lifetime? Sounds like a bad investment.

Don't get wrapped around the cooler "once in a lifetime" axle...

From a Yeti POV, the higher priced cooler brings you in, but then it's up to Yeti to create an "experience" for the customer and develop what the brand truly is...and, thus, the Yeti lifestyle is born.

If you identify as a Yeti person, then you are likely a fan of the outdoors (obviously), and have a good amount of expendable income...amongst other demographics. But, running with the expendable income part...and assuming you are brand loyal...then you are going back for more products that help you buy-in to the Yeti lifestyle, so now you're picking up one more of the cooler you love and maybe a different size cooler or two.

Do you love stainless steel cups, koozies, and tumblers...well, Yeti has you covered. What about a bag...do you need a bag? Chairs? Yep...got them, too. Clothes...you know it!

Sooooo...while, yes, maybe some buy one cooler in their life...Yeti is making their money off you coming back and spending even more on other products.
