After the "Band in China" episode mocked Hollywood for shaping its content to please the Chinese government, Beijing has responded by deleting all clips, episodes and discussions of the Comedy Central show.
South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone probably saw this coming, and to their credit, simply didn't care.

The most recent episode of South Park, "Band in China," has been generating loads of media attention for its sharp critique of the way Hollywood tends to shape its content to avoid offending Chinese government censors in any way whatsoever.
Now, those very same government censors, in the real world, have lashed back at South Park by deleting virtually every clip, episode and online discussion of the show from Chinese streaming services, social media and even fan pages.

On Monday afternoon, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone issued a statement with a faux apology about the ban.
"Like the NBA, we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts," the statement reads. "We too love money more than freedom and democracy. Xi doesn't look like Winnie the Poo at all. Tune into our 300th episode the Wednesday at 10 p.m. Long live the great Communist Party of China. May the autumn's sorghum harvest be bountiful. We good now China?"

Did the title "Band in China" give this away to the writer?

shite they even did a Mohammed episode that Comedy Central made them edit, so they then LITERALLY shite on every other religious figure in history to prove a point. Episode was never aired again I don't think.
They give no fricks.
That apology is hilarious.

The funny thing is they had already shown a picture of Mohammad in the episode super best friends.
And no one Lost their shite because we weren’t kowtowing to Muslims back then

I don't like politics in my sports. Thank god I can hate on the NBA and not be called a racis. I didn't have that kind of luck with the NFL.
Either way frick communism.
Either way frick communism.

I love this shite. Get all pissy because you’re mad that people in other parts of the world call your oppressive regime oppressive. Respond with oppression. The most Chinese thing ever.

China is a living nightmare of a place. When you read 1984 and then you realize China is worse.

I feel like I’ve grown to love South Park more and more as the years go by. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and while I love many of the classics more than the current events political satire it’s evolved into, they still knock it outta the park at times. It’s like SP is the last true medium that can skewer fricking anything and everything (which they do) with seemingly no repercussions. It’s always so entertaining to see that in this sensitive PC society today.

Yep. Stand up comedians can’t even perform like they want to because their content is too offensive
