But, her point is well made. We need to give people living wages. This is exactly why the minimum wage needs to be $15 per hour - so we don't have %15.0m CEO's and starving employees.
What is the purpose of a business?

To make a reasonable profit, but not on the backs of underpaid workers. Don't exploit.
I have nothing against profit. Zero. I have stock in companies that make profits but they pay their workers well. Look at Berkshire Hathaway - it invests in companies like the BNSF Railroad and Heinz - both companies that pay their employees well.

Oh, you're a troll/alter. And a pretty good one. Carry on.

Not great, but not bad.

Know what you mean Scruffy. I felt like i lived like a king in residency. Was making 3x my income in college. And I didn't go to one of those fancy places that pays for all your meals. Felt like my rent was a rip off since I spent so little time at "home".
And her, "too tired to do anything when I get home". Try working 80 hours, but still having to read every night for another 30-40 hours. Go to sleep at 1-2, and up at 5 to start all over.

Big difference between a "janitor" generically v. someone who cleans at the Heinz plant. I went for specifics and industrial cleaners do much better than some custodian somewhere.

No, I mean a custodian at Heinz makes $15k a year. They really take care of him/her

I'm also able to live comfortably.
Bunch of spoiled, entitled little shits if you ask me.

You are wrong. Even Thibadoe, a right winger, conceded a Heinz janitor makes $11.10 per hour which is $23,088. So, you are wrong.

Went through a two week long operations management class for a large company some years ago. This class had mangers from all over the United States. First question asked was "raise your hand if you work in California." Spent two days just discussing the mess that is the state of California.
There are so many lawsuits there, it's amazing they even have an economy. I don't know if it was just our company or all companies in California but there was no such thing as a "salaried" employee in California. Hourly only. Also look up the Green Chair Law too. Something along the lines of an employee in California has to be able to sit down for 15 minutes once an hour. Point is, I'm surprised this chick hasn't sued Yelp for millions. Suing employers is the in thing in California.

I don't think anyone here will disagree with residency being a long, arduous grind. You don't see me posting here about overpaid physicians.
Big difference between a CEO and a physician ...
