I imagine that’s the case in most rural-ish areas.

Pretty much

I heard on Wwl radio this morning that in LA there are 900 people with covid in the hospital compared to NYC, all 5 major boroughs, with less than 400 people taking up hospital beds

Is this where we pretend NYC has been handling this virus well?

Yes, when mandated by law. You need to grow the frick up. I say this as someone who thinks they are stupid and ineffective.
So you think they're stupid and ineffective and wear them anyway yet you're telling the OP, who thinks the masks are useless and stupid, that he needs to grow up?

I wouldn't use nursing home staff as my benchmark for medically knowledgeable staff.

Doesn’t matter if they are medically knowledgeable or not, it’s a business & under the mandate they are required to wear masks

Of course people around sick & elderly need to wear masks & in no way was I disputing that

I will say we went to the Houston zoo on Saturday, extremely hot and humid and decently crowded but everyone that needed to have masks had them on.

Was uncomfortable hot and annoying for sure but didn't look like there were any issues from anyone there.

I’m seeing more and more people without them.

Absolutely zero reason to still be wearing them at this point unless you’re an unhealthy person.

Is it that much of an inconvenience to wear it? Or do you think you are that "cool" or "important" to bitch and moan about something so relatively trivial?

Sure I am, because masks literally don't bother me in the slightest. It comes from not be a baby back bitch about a tiny piece of clothing.

I'm sure you will be first in line for the government mandated identification tattoo. I mean a tiny bit of ink is nothing right?

Shouldn't bother you in the slightest.

I basically don’t give a shite because it’s a political ploy and has been from the beginning.

If you’re cool with mindlessly following political ploys, good for you?

So what if taxes go up a couple %. It’s not like it will break me or put me in the poor house.

Yep. Too many bitches willing to do whatever the government says because it doesn't really bother them. Well great. They should stick one over their face and shove another up their arse... block both entries.

I wear them in public because I’m not selfish and would hate to get some old folks sick. It’s a minor inconvenience. I know you guys think you have more intel than others. Why is it that everybody that comes near the president gets tested?

Is this where we pretend access to the fricking President is the same as walking around in some random public place?

You good with background checks and security screening everywhere you go? Because that also happens anytime you interact with the President.
