The only real way to prevent a gut after 29 is cocaine or meth, so that probably factors into it.

So I guess I can drop that gym membership I don't use and not feel guilty.

A talk show did an on the street segment for this.

First they asked all the women who they'd rather have a one night stand with and they basically all picked the cheesy muscular dude.

Then they asked who they'd rather date and be with and they all picked the dadbod.

And even that isn't a sure thing for some of us. But man, it is the best diet plan I've ever been on.

I've seen the term 'dad bod' to include a wide range of body types. Does this particular author include an ideal BF%?

For example, I'm guessing that anywhere between 12-25% BF may be considered a dad bod. I'm also guessing that 12% BF is less risk of heart attack than 25% BF. Although maybe 12% BF is possibly also lower heart attack risk than those that get into the sub 10% BF.

Not sure what is meant by older chubbier fathers being 'better at passing on their genes that their leaner counterparts'.

The dad bod is a trap women and unfit men want you to fall for

Don't fall for it. Stay fit and keep your value high.

I had an ex gf that said something to the effect of the ideal being a guy who looked like they didn't work out much but could run 2 miles without too much trouble.

But for real a 20 something having a dad bod is inexcusable.

The vast majority of dudes I see with hot women in their 20s and early-mid 30s are either naturally pretty thin (and not muscular), or are dad bod shaped

Gay guys are usually really fit and die earlier. That may skew part of the data.

So, a social scientist who likely has a dad bod tried to justify having a dad bod, including by using pseudo-science.

Nice.

I assume it has a lot more to do with not taking yourself to seriously and being generally fun to be around while not being a complete slob.

I'm going to guess that what most of are calling 'dad bod' is really borderline obese and what the author is thinking.

Since when does working out 3-4 times a week and not having a gut= taking yourself too serious?
