I always think it's funny when people say we need to get rid of "useless" degrees like anthropology, literature, art, history, and philosophy. Do people really want to live in a world like that?

You go to college to become educated, not to get a job. You want a job? You go to professional school or trade school.

College graduates are generally educated. Educated people get jobs. A person who studied art history and got great grades is not an idiot. They are educated. It means they can be an asset to your business.

College kids be dumb as hell, what are you talking about?

Zero.

LucasP beat me to it.

And yet, they attend a school whose motto, "Lux et Veritas," is in the secret, dead language of white people.

Look for that to change soon, too.

In other news, students in the Yale's African-American Lit course have expressed major concerns about the lack of non African-American authors in the curriculum. An unnamed student said, "There are so many other great authors that are not African-American. We don't understand why this course ignores those other great writers. This micro-aggression cannot stand!"

Meanwhile, students in Yale's Major Female Authors course have walked out of class due to the fact that not one intergender, bigender, pangender, genderfluid, demigender, amalgagender, or male author is being read in the course. One student was quoted as saying "We had no idea that this course would only feature binary Female authors, we feel deceived, betrayed and intellectually scissored"

While I liked your premise, I disagree with the gilded statement, because after spending A LOT of time in college, there are TONS of people walking around who made great grades in college that are complete idiots.

Also, having taken a fair amount of humanities courses, they tend to be taught at a far lower level than scientific courses.

This wasn't my experience, but I'm sure experiences will differ.

I just meant that they can't "not take the course" as you originally said. I don't agree with them.

How many black and Hispanic poets were there in 16th century England?
