WWtOTD: guy asks girl to split the bill after date

Newest what would you do video piqued my interest and I wanted to see what the OT opinion was.
Scenario: guy takes a girl on a first date, they run up an $80 bill. At the end of the date she says she's not really interested in a second date and would like to just be friends. The guy suggests they each pay for their own portion of the meal.
Who's in the right? Personally I never assume someone else is paying for my meal, no matter what the occasion is.

I would never assume a date is going to pay, regardless of how it goes. I’d almost rather pay for it because it would be unexpected.

I suppose that I'm old fashioned but I expect to pay on a first date even if she says that she didn't think it would work out during the appetizer course.
I'm not in a relationship now and I'm not sure when I'm going to test the waters again. I've had some friends tell me that they have friends who are interested in meeting me. I just don't think I'm ready. But I know that I can be a fun date. So, some day.

I actually watched and it's weird, but I liked every one of the marks in the video, regardless of which side they fell on.

If you are going Dutch, make it clear before the date. If you don’t, pay the damn bill or don’t go out. If she offers to split after unprompted, ball is on your table

If I was the one to ask her out I’m going to pay. If the lady said ok and took the time to come out that doesn’t necessarily guarantee that the date will go well and she will want another one.
