WWII Thread: Lesser known aircraft that you like

It's been a while since we had a good WWII thread on here. SO what's some of your favorite aircraft from WWII and why?
Everyone knows and loves aircraft like the P-51, P-38, BF-109, B-17, etc, etc. But what about some of the "other" aircraft from WWII that are not quite as popular? Anyone else interested in or just generally like these? If so, which ones?

Douglas TBD Devastator Torpedo Bomber
(One of the first models I built when I was a kid)
SM.79 Sparviero
(I built a model virtually identical to this one)
Macchi C.202
Henschel HS-129
Consolidated PBY Catalina
(I had a great model of this until my then 3 yr old son decided he wanted to play with it one day
)
P-26 Peashooter
(Yes it was obsolete and on the way out at the start of the war. But it still saw use early on in the Pacific and was even able to shoot down a few A6M Zeros over the Philippines)

Couple of weeks ago in Lafayette, they flew in a B17, B24, B29, P51 2 seater and a couple of other WWII planes. You could pay to take a flight in any of them. The P51 was $1000 or some such shite.

Not many people know about the MB.157, a French fighter that out-performed anything else at the beginning of WWII. Here is the only prototype completed, in German colors...

A couple years ago they had a B-17 over at the B'ham airport that would take you up for a ride. Of course I was out of town at the time.

Anybody that has an interest in WWII aircraft should go visit the Air Museum in Palm Springs, CA. It's located around the back side of the airport. It has a great collection of aircraft, mostly WWII era (including a Catalina) but also a few jets. All of the planes in the collection can and do fly. Also there are always very helpful veterans there who will talk your ear off about any of the aircraft in the collection. If you happen to be in Palm Springs it's a must-see and worth the trip even if you have to drive a few hours out of your way.

You'd love my dad's "Marine Room." He has photos (sometimes of the one he flew, sometimes just a photo of the model) of every plane he flew while in the Marine Corps.
He flew in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
His favorite plane to fly (even better than an F4) was the Tigercat:

The Germans designed and even produced some really strange aircraft, especially in the final stages of the war.

(A jet fighter made mostly of wood!)
Bachem Ba 349
(Basically a manned rocket fired vertically into the air. The idea was after it's accent, it would glide towards bomber formations and fire it's salvo of rockets.)
