It’s a total happy accident, hardly anyone disliked her but when they turned her heel she was able to show some actual attitude and it just took off from there.......doesn’t hurt that she has a unique look and is attractive
I know the internet fan base has a tendency to hate everything but I think deep down everyone wants this generations Austin or Hogan they are just looking for the chance to get behind someone. Someone with a unique look and attitude, things I would argue are severely lacking these days and I think Becky provided those things

I think similar to the Bryan situation too the company didn’t really want this match for WM (seemingly Flair vs Rousey was the plan) but realized they couldn’t ignore the popularity so they changed it.
