I remember the San Francisco Giants and their fans doing the Yes chants during their World Series run a few years ago. He even rode with them in the championship parade and gave them a title belt after they won.

I get it that not everyone likes wrestling, but the constant talking down to people that do really is funny sometimes.

Revenue is higher - maybe their net profits are lower - also are public now and have the network - again what multiple journalists have said

Move those goalposts.
They've been public since Oct 99.

Its a public company, you can look up all their financial information. NXT has lost $32 million over the last two years. Network subscriptions are fairly stagnant between 1.5-1.6 million. They raised ticket prices because the hardcore fans will still go no matter what but the cheap seats aren't selling like they used to.

Fox is offering them a lot of money. It will be interesting to see if USA tries to match.

You should look up their financials from 02 and 03. They lost over $35 million on that stupid Times Square restaurant and almost $70 million on the XFL (NBC had to cover the rest of the $140 million).

i am no wwe (nerd) but i watch every year from feb-wrestlemania. I take it for what it is, entertainment. I also find it simply amazing that a sports entertainment show that everyone knows is scripted still pulls the ratings it does every single week, and sells out shows like wwe does. It is freaking mind blowing actually that it has done this well for al these years.

You probably watch movies

Sitcoms

Game of Thrones

etc etc

It's all scripted as well. Wrestling is no different.

I honestly was too lazy to look up any of this but I did know they had announced they had set records - shame on me for not being prepared to argue my point

As for women "wrestling" well...Sable's fake cans were more popular than any of these cans today.

You’re an idiot if you think women’s wrestling was better or more over then. It’s not. I was a teenager when all that was going down so of course I loved it but women’s wrestling today is so damn entertaining today and they can put on some damn good matches.

We live in a very different world today than then. If WWE tried to frame women like that now, they’d lose advertisers quicker than you could blink.

Women's wrestling isn't a big deal outside of WWE. You don't see much of it in ROH or NJPW. Seems like if there was a huge demand we would see more of it on the indys. WWE has done a good job pushing it but I don't think its as popular as they want it to be.
