Women's wrestling is actually the best thing on the show most of the time - watch Sasha Banks v. Bayley at TakeOver Brooklyn or their 30 minute Iron Woman Match - some of the best matches you'll ever see - Charlotte v Becky Lynch v Sasha stole the show at WM32

ot for you and me, because we were kids then. But for todays kids its just as cool
It wasn't just kids though. Star NFL players (like John Randall) were wearing Austin 3:16 shirts under the pads during games. The 98 Cincinnati Reds had a bunch of guys where half wore NWO Hollywood and the other half wore NWO Wolfpac. Each "side" had a captain that would come out to Voodoo Child or the Wolfpac theme when they were up to bat at home. The amount 18-34 year olds watching Monday night rasslin on cable rivaled that of MNF on ABC (a network).

No one's buying tickets and PPVs to see a bunch of horseshite. It was much better for business when Jarrett was walloping them over the head with guitars or the Dudleys putting them through tables.

Professional athletes still do that.
You're right that it was more mainstream in the late 90's. Business is actually the best it's ever been now. It's just more international now. They also don't have the over top stars they used to and that's by design (which is a mistake)

Wrong - Bayley is out selling Cena in merch sales right now. Sasha Banks gets louder pops than most men. There are more women wrestling fans than ever before in history. And it's not horseshite. It's great wrestling. This tells me you haven't actually watched a match, no matter who is in it, in years so pardon me for not taking your opinion too seriously.

That's not true though. Give me a few minutes to pull some numbers.

Yep, nerve struck.
I mean, the cruiserweights in WCW put on cute little matches too. They weren't putting butts in the seats and eyes on the product though.

Financially it is...ratings aren't higher...but that's true across all TV. Streaming networks and DVR change that.

The women's elimination chamber match was way better than the men's just last month.

Ironic coming from Mike Graham since he couldn't draw flies to shite in his daddy's promotion in Florida and blew his brains out a few years ago over being a lifetime loser.

WWE is making record profits because of cuts to spending, not because of an increase in revenue. Just look at their live attendance now compared to the attitude era.

Live attendance isn't nearly as important as it was in the attitude era. I would not be surprised if house shows go away in the next decade.
ETA also Revenues are way up in 2017.

Not even close. They made roughly $32 million in profit last year. Compare that to numbers from the AE:
April 01 1994 - March 30 1995: -$4,431,000
April 01 1995 - March 30 1996: +$3,319,000
April 01 1996 - March 30 1997: -$6,505,000
April 01 1997 - March 30 1998: +$8,446,000
April 01 1998 - March 30 1999: +$56,030,000
April 01 1999 - March 30 2000: +$68,973,000
April 01 2000 - March 30 2001: +$84,981,000
Here are some recent numbers:
2012 $484,000,000 $31,400,000
2013 $508,000,000 $2,800,000
2014 $542,600,000 -$30,100,000
2015 $658,768,000 $23,927,000
2016 $729,216,000 $33,725,000

i am no wwe (nerd) but i watch every year from feb-wrestlemania. I take it for what it is, entertainment. I also find it simply amazing that a sports entertainment show that everyone knows is scripted still pulls the ratings it does every single week, and sells out shows like wwe does. It is freaking mind blowing actually that it has done this well for al these years.

Yet they are further in the black than ever before...cutting expenses and WWE Network membership increases will do that.
