I'm stuck in a sky lounge because my flight is delayed.
Free pretzels. And drinks. Lots of drinks.
But I am stoked about this eclipse.

It's totally different. With the right eye protection, you can essentially stare at an eclipse forever. Forever. Forever's gonna start tonight. Forever's gonna start tonight. Once upon a time I was falling in love. But now I'm only falling apart. And there's nothing I can do. A total eclipse of the heart
fricking awesome...

Doctor...my optometrist called me today to warn me about the upcoming dangers that the eclipse will bring. He explained that an eclipse is more dangerous than a normal sunny day because normally when it's sunny the brightness of rays deter you from staring at the sun. During an eclipse your retinas are exposed to the same damaging light, but because your eyeball has no pain receptors behind the retina there is nothing warning you to turn away...at the same time, due to increased darkness your pupils become more dilated allowing in more of the damaging light.
Do you concur?

This eclipse shite is reduculus. Sure it's cool and all but people are acting like its the greatest thing to ever happen to this earth. I predict a ton of people are going to be very disappointed come Monday afternoon

It's the most exciting shite that will happen to a lot of people for a long time. Which is sad

It'll be back in 2024. It's not sad, total eclipses are pretty cool

How many black men and women have we allowed to walk on the moon? ZERO that's how many. I'm talking zilch. They wouldn't even let a brotha or sista ride in the back of the spaceship to the moon. The moon is a huge monument of white supremacy. frick this eclipse. I demand the moon be removed from orbit immediately!

The only time this may be an issue if you attempt to look at the sun unprotected at the 99% or so area thinking it is safe. Especially if you are doing this in a telescope.
In totality, there are no sun rays. The only light hitting you is diffraction from the surrounding areas.
Its the reason why you can see the corona, because 100% of the sun itself is being blocked.
When you start to see Bailey's beads (caused by sunlight flashing through canyons and valleys on the moon), you gotta cover up again.

On a related note, just came across this gem of advice:

AAA is reminding drivers not to stop along the highway to watch the event and not to wear eclipse glasses while driving.
