The ‘Stan

A man stands in robes,
An imposing figure,
Puts his barrel to her lobe,
Then he pulls the trigger,
The Gun is smoking now,
Like broken vows,
People pleading, stampeding,
But they can’t get out,
They’re surrounded,
Confounded, cause their hands are tied,
Because half a world away,
A politician lied,

People half a world away are lying dead in the sand,
And behind a podium they say it’s part of the plan,
Straight up lying to our faces like they don’t give a damn,
And they don’t because their cronies all got rich in the ‘Stan

Sorry standards,
For commanders,
Dwindled our defenses,
Now it’s babies,
Being handed,
Over razor fences,
People packed in like sardines,
Unplanned, canned and ready,
People falling from the sky,
Like bits of meat confetti,

And still the politicians,
are defending their positions,
When they aren’t they go to Hiding,
As our pole position’s sliding,
Allies stabbed in the back,
Soldiers banned from attack,
But they’ll call a lid,
At 3 pm,
Ice cream and a nap,
And the rage tastes of bile rising in my throat,
As behind their masks I watch them as they smile and gloat,
