Would you watch gladiator games nowadays?

Suppose the US began holding gladiator games and the gladiators were the worst of the worst in our prison system. The murderers, the rapists, the child molestors, etc. And since we are supposedly a free nation, anybody else that had a mind to participate.

All weapons would be the same as the Roman era, no guns or any of that shite. Just swords, Spears, tridents, etc.

Would you attend? And if you couldn’t attend, would you watch on PPV? Concessions would sell alcohol a as well.

Each state would hold their own games, then there would be a regional round, then the winners of each region would meet up in Jerry’s world or some other huge sporting venue.

Winner is still a prisoner and has to try to repeat at the next tournament.

We couldn’t do this every year obviously, we’d probably have to do it every 5-10 years.

Clearly, this goes without saying, this is strictly hypothetical but I’m watching ‘Gladiator’ right now and this got me thinking.
