Our friends have been looking for property in our area for months. Not much is available and nothing suits their purposes.

My husband is proposing to let them live on our land for free, build or buy their own house and use our pastures and land for their cattle, chickens etc. We do not want to sell the land as it is part of a huge family property.

But we want to offer them use of the land for their lifetime. We have a well so there is no charge for water. We also have a cow giving us an abundant supply of milk so they would have free milk, cream and butter.

So does this seem like a good deal for them?

(They would likely build a house that could be moved if they find land they want or so that their children can move the house years from now when their parents die)

Damn that's mighty generous of y'all. If I'm your husband I'm at least gonna ask if I could bang the chick.

Horrible idea.

While your intentions are good, these kinds of acts of generosity usually backfire. You will lose a friend and possibly incur a plethora of legal expenses.

I wouldn't even do this with a close family member with whom I got along well.

I'm confused. You are going to sell them land? Are they building a house on your land or are they just using your land, but not living on it?
If you are letting them build on your land for free, how is this not a GREAT deal for them?

For an "immensely private" person like you claim to be, we sure know a lot about your life.

No but her posts about this land and shite screams cult from what I gather. The infamous land even has its own school taught by the OP for the cult's children.

Is Randy Trahan suddenly giving out take home exams?

It's a usufruct baw. Be sure to bust down any fence they construct, otherwise your arse will get evicted
