I took a decrease for a much stressful job.
But the excitement and reward can’t be matched
Love my low paying, stressful job.
I do own a business as well, which is more like a normal person’s job and it’s not stressful at all. Working for yourself is the way to go.
ETA: also own multiple properties, and that is stressful. Damn people better pay their rent on time.

Well I do have some help around me...however I am very hands on and very controlling so I have to know everything that is going on at just about all times...It's not something Im proud of but like I said, Im very competitive and I dont like losing.
Trust me there are time when I just say frick it.....I'll worry about that on Monday....or if it's late in the afternoon and I'm already occupied doing something outside of work...frick it I'll worry about it tomorrow...

Worked 208 hours in the last two weeks, between my job and side job. It’s ruthless, but I like providing for my family and doing nice things.
19 more years until retirement with a full pension and a separate 401K and I’m 38. I’m doing pretty good. I’m exhausted though.

Nope.
My job is significantly less stressful than my home life as of now.

This
Would not cause
I'd have to finish work faster.

I'm not saying it would. Job itself is a lot less stressing the less hrs is just a bonus

I did exactly that and took a 20 grand cut for the last 12 years of my employment. The first 28 years of work I basically was on call 24/7/365 except for vacation and sick days. Stayed in a motel every other night for that 28 years. Got married at age 48, wife agreed to paying half the bills which enabled me to go the way I did the last 12 years. The new job with the same company put me in my bed every night with weekends off.
Was it worth the pay cut? You bet.

depends on a lot of factors but for the most part yes.

No. I’m barely getting by as it is.

I deal with that too but on the flip side I can not be at the office during the week and still "work"
Y’all hiring? An office job, not the real job

No stress equals boring.
I moved from being an aircraft maintenance production superintendent (high stress) to the inspector general office (low stress), and I want to blow my brains out due to boredom on a daily basis.
