Would you support the upvote/downvote having a purpose

Something along the lines of a 24 hour suspension for receiving 500 downvotes (cumulative), 48 hours if you manage 1000 downvotes. On the other side an upvote negates a downvote. Quality posting keeps you from getting suspended.
Yes it will get abused at first, but over time will allow some self regulation here. Put power into the people's hands.

I expect that, but it would be something new to try. Make them mean something or just get rid of them.
We could have some mod oversight in case someone is getting their feelings hurt. Some on the Poli-board might clean their act up.

You do not have faith in your fellow TD poster. With that being said there could be limits into the amount of downvotes a person could apply. Limit the ability for an individual to downvote another to once per 24 hours. This will prevent someone from downvoting 500 posts of a given poster.

Ok, a leader board would be pretty awesome.
Top 25 upvote get access to TD nudes
Bottom 25 only get access to soccer board
It would be fluid based on vote totals and over a certain time frame (ex. 3 month rolling)
