Sweet! I’ll pass those costs onto you via higher rent!

No!! No more freaking taxes. They have to start cutting spending first.

Only if the money will be used for more Diversity Administration positions

There is no need for both ULM and la tech. Roll them into each other. Make the main campus of ULM a juco and keep he pharmacy school plus whatever grad degrees are worth a shite.

Why should a state university be funded by locals?
Posted on 12/18/18 at 2:40 pm to bayouteche
People who support the university are welcome to donate money to the university, with no government confiscation of money involved.

La Tech is a far superior school and should be the only University in the area. We should shut down ULM, LSUA and E, Grambling, Northwestern, McNeese, and the entire Southern network

Hell no.
Scruffy lives near a JUCO.

I would just want this to happen for the drama

I don’t support taxes to support incompetence and corruption. So basically I don’t support any taxes.

Serious question, not trying to ruffle feathers.
What if it saved you from having to pay your multiple children's college tuition or stopped those same kids from coming out of college in a shite ton of student debt?

Kids can work while in school to reduce how much debt they graduate with.

In Houma, I pay property tax on the equipment I own every year. This is what happens when people with no skin in the game get to vote.
Posted on 12/18/18 at 3:30 pm to Placebeaux
And you get a credit when you file with state for that tax
Posted on 12/18/18 at 3:32 pm to Dire Wolf
Should do the same thing to UNO/SLU.
Posted on 12/18/18 at 3:33 pm to bayouteche
If it is a top university, sure. It's well known that the presence of a great university (think Ivy League, top public school, etc.) entices large employers to relocate there, and that brings in $$$ for the area all by itself.
But for ULM? Hell no.

The argument about not having a school in Northern LA or Central LA is the dumbest thing ever.
LA’s public education university system is a massive waste of money and more than half of them should probably be shutdown.
The state of LA has more public universities per capita than any other state.
We don’t need many of them.
