Go do a bit of research on the standard of living in the Soviet Union in the 1930s compared to Nazi Germany. It would be like comparing the standard of living in El Salvador’s to the US.

Bottom line, the vast majority of the Soviet Union was a third-world shithole.

(And yes I’m aware the term “third world” had not been coined in the 30s. I use the term here only for illustrative purposes)

Germany easily until the Red Army rape train roared through the east.

One of the things that drove Soviet Soldiers into an even worse frenzy was once they started overrunning German territory they saw how the German people were light years ahead of the Soviets when it comes to standard of living. Even poor Germans had items that only the Communist Party elite had in the USSR. The Red Army soldiers were enraged that a country that was so well off already would attack an impoverished country like theirs.

As a a German, I’d of course go with Hitler.

He was just mis understood.

Pretty much everything the Germans create is badass. It's a whole nation of perfectionists.

Russia gave us vodka and the Yugo.

I think the choice is clear.

Typical liberals. Blame everybody else instead of their own political ideology and leaders

If I wasn't on Hitler's list of hated group of people definitely Hitler. It doesn't get brought up enough on how evil Stalin truly was. Stalin killed millions and millions of people. He killed more people than Hitler.

Both would fear me and target me for purging. Neither would have me, and I would tolerate neither. My survival would depend on regime change and taking care of them first before they got to me.

Stalin was more the naive of the 2, and plus, as the worst mass murderer of Slavic people in human history, I think I'd have better chances getting help from the Russians in fixing that fricked up Georgian (not the 1980 kind).

Hitler.

The catch, Jewish heritage.
The other catch, until the generation before me, we all had white hair and blue eyes.

You know what scares me about living under a psychotic dictator?

That the dark part of my mind, the part that exists in all men, my fear is that part would see it as an opportunity.

I would’ve done better under Hitler. And I’d rather live in Germany than Russia anyway.

Yeah me too. I have no Jewish ancestry so Hitler probably wouldn't have sent me to the camps. He probably would have sent me to get shot though.

I'm 100% Polish, half Jew, and both sets of my grandparents came to the US to flee Hitler's reign of terror...

But I'd still choose Hitler.

Luckily I wasn't born with any physical Jew qualities other than curly hair when it gets longer, but even then I have dark blond/light brown hair and blue eyes. I could probably pass for German if I had to.

The quality of life in Germany was comparable to that of the US until the end of the war when Germany was conquered and then divided; even then, West Germany was a pretty decent place to live.
