San Antonio is some like 4-5x bigger than Atlanta per population.
Does that seem accurate to you?

San Antonio must have a huge city limits.
It's always been in the top 10 for city residents but closer to #30 for the total metro area.

San Antonio is the 7th most populated city in the USA

In 2000 San Antonio was the 29th biggest metro, behind Indianapolis and Orlando. In front of Norfolk, Las Vegas. Not far in front of new Orleans…
Sure, “big cities”, I guess. Depends on your definition of big city.
But we’re 20 now. We have passed St. Louis and Baltimore. Right behind Denver(basically the same size). This is a big difference to me.
I remember being a kid and the drive to UTSA was country land out there. Now it’s developed all the way to Boerne.
South of San Antonio is still less developed, but also not as nice.

San Antonio has annexed a ton of land so what would be suburbs in other places are still considered San Antonio here. That’s why our population is huge. But we are #20 metro wise, and this is still a pretty big change from the past decades.

Population counts vary depending on how they are done. The Atlanta population is low, but the metro area is huge. Some cities have a large “city limit” and some have small.
You have to look at population by Metropolitan Statistical Area to get the accurate picture.

I’d buy some land in those pines. There’s enough in town to stock up on every few weeks then just live free rest the time

I find it very hard to believe Tyler has a worse gang problem than Dallas…
Tyler is a very small town so even a little bit of gang activity is felt all over the city. And like I said, this was 25 years ago so maybe its better now. Back then Tyler was considered a hotbed of gang activity.

Tyler is a hub city for East TX. City officials estimate over 400,000 people daily work in and around Tyler.

One of these is a major metro area and one of these is a midsize town. So I feel like it just depends on what people like.

Tyler/SA are two of the least comparable living options in all Texas.

Im considering putting my kiddo in brook hill but Bullard has a great public school system
My kids went to the catholic schools before we got transferred to the sandy, dusty Midland. But when I was commuting at 5:45 in the morning in Houston towards the end of my career, I thought about where to retire. Though many stayed in Houston, I came back to the East Texas lakes.

Give me Atwoods over Tractor supply any day, and Stanley's compares pretty well to SA BBQ.
