Tyler, It's closer to Lake Fork.

The lake record for the Lake Tylers is shy of 16 pounds. My personal best is about nine and a quarter.

San Anto. Great food, middle of the Great State of Texas, and great people.

If you like San Antonio don't go to the RIverwalk early in the AM before they scoop the dead rats out of the ditc..., er, river.

San Antonio is an extremely underrated city. The good parts at least.

Well the question wasn't do you want to live in Alamo Heights or Tyler
the question was San Antonio or Tyler I stand by my answer of Tyler

In Alamo Heights is actually a separate city from San Antonio Has its own ISD

My personal best at Fork was right at 10lbs. Caught on a jig and pig in 23 feet of water on a stump line outside Mustang Creek. When I set the hook I thought I was snagged on a stump, until my line started to move.

But I know I lost fish that were probably bigger. Watched one that had to go close to 14 sling a bass pattern Super Spook, made me sick.

My wife lived in Tyler for 3 months and we enjoyed it. Cost of living seemed to be really low with the nearby farms. Steaks, dairy, eggs and those types of things were below average cost. That was 2018 so I’m sure inflation caught up by now. Never been to SA so I can’t say how it compares, but we loved Tyler. It was quiet and clean.

2.7 million people. 24th largest in the US. Are you suggesting that isn’t a “big city”?

I am suggesting 24th is smaller than 7th

It’s two different statistics. Not really sure what your point is.

7th largest city proper
24th largest metro

We played some soccer scrimmages a few times at that Hayes complex southwest of Tyler. Felt like it was in the middle of nowhere.

San Antonio never felt that huge to me compared to the Houston or Dallas metroplexes.

I guess I’m biased because I have land in Tyler, but San Antonio is a shite hole. There is a crime ring in SA that steals F250 taillights. Ask me how I know.

Tyler. I’m not a big city guy but I love SA and am there for work a few times a month.

That being said, I’d do Boerne over Tyler over SA.

Suburbs of SA are the only bigger city I’d move to in TX. Maybe Dripping Springs, Bulverde, Marble Falls, or Rockwall if the situation were perfect.

San Angelo, New Braunfels, or Tyler are the only bigger towns I’d mess with.

I’m in Temple FWIW and have probably spent 50 days+ in all of the above. I reference Temple because I don’t want to seem uppity. Temple ain’t all that but it’s ok living.
