The city voted for that far-left nutcase Behn by over 70%. That should tell you what Nashville is like now.

Knoxville

Still would take that over Charlotte Sales Tax at 7.25% & state income tax of 4.25-3.99%
Or Atlanta: 8.90% and 5.19-4.99% respectively
Or Atlanta: 8.90% and 5.19-4.99% respectively

Anywhere but Houston where OP is.
Charlotte if I had to pick. I like living in ATL but Charlotte is nicer.

What do you consider NE Atlanta? You have to go up 85 at least to Chateau Elan or Braselton before you get out of Urban sprawl/deep blue political hell.

NC Sales tax on cars is only a 3% Highway use tax and most unprepared food is either exempt from tax or taxes at 2% locally. At least it's not of everything.
That said, I'll take a consumption tax over an income tax any day. A large portion of sales tax is discretionary, income tax isn't.

Especially to live. They do a great job of keeping the out of control crime under wraps. Place is kinda a cesspool.

This. Gwinnett County is utter hell. I want to shoot myself anytime I have to drive out that way.
It only starts to get better after the Mall of GA and the 985/85 split.
