I'll choose BOTH

Then sit back and watch Bernie or Hillary steal it and give it to the do-nuffin entitlement crowd.

Simple question. Would you rather:

A.) Work hard and earn your own wealth (say all of your hard work and savvy business decisions pay off at age 50), or

B.) Inherit at a very young age (age 21).

For the purposes of this question, let's say that your inheritance is enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life (without working of course).

Definitely B

which you could do with an inheritance instead of taking out a loan and paying back interest

basically, your question in the OP could be "would you rather have to pay back interest on a loan or not have to pay back interest because you had your own money?"

same thing

What I would give to have so much money that I don't need to work. Travel the world, spend more time with my kids, help the poor, whatever.

I'd sit on so many non profit boards and actually be active in them. And I'd do a lot of blow and gamble a lot too.

Well, every morning of the week I'm leaving my house at 7:00 and get home at 4:30 or maybe later. I make a very nice living for my family and my wife is a stay at home mother.

Dude down the street who is a very nice guy and I like him has a trust fund and doesn't work. Every day he leaves his house and goes to the club to play golf or goes hunting or fishing or whatever the hell he wants. His house and mine are pretty similar in size and finish.

I would much rather have his life. Not saying my is bad, not by any stretch. I love my life, but I'd take his in a heart beat.

Just give me that Powerball. Even if I won/were given money I would still want to grow it more through the creation of a business(es)

I enjoy my sense of accomplishment of solving problems everyday at work. The paycheck they give me every two weeks really doesn't matter to me. If I had tons of money I would still go to work everyday (maybe do something different but still work or volunteer)

If I had inherited enough money when I was 21 that I wouldn't have needed to work, I'd likely have wasted it all on hookers and drugs. God always has a plan and He knew better than to set me up with that kinda deal.

Ditto, but God isn't that smart. My family wouldn't have given me a shite ton of money at 21. They would've most probably waited until 25

I have a buddy I grew up with that inherited. He lives on a ranch out in the hill country and spends his days fishing, guiding hunting trips, spending time with his family, and traveling.

I did not inherit and spend my days in Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio fighting traffic, having loads of shite dumped in my lap, and fighting for every deal just so one day hopefully I can have a ranch and a life like him.

Do you think he would want to trade with me. I don't believe so.
