I never knew this was a thing or even what it meant, but we were interviewing recently and a colleague thought it was a red flag that a couple of the candidates had (they/them) or (he/him) classifications on their LinkedIn profile. Apparently it’s what you identify as. Still not sure what it means. What are the OTs thoughts on this?

Absolutely not.
Major red flag.

Sounds like someone just waiting / wanting to be offended.

Depends on the job being hired for. If they were applying to be a maid for Paul Allen or S, it would be ok. Match made in heaven.

If it was for a baw job, probably not so much.

Not Linked In, but saw an email from a Maria today who put (she/her) behind her name. It's stupid and I immediately thought she's going to be a pain in the arse.

Their schools MAKE THEM DO THIS NOW. So the kids get out of college and have been taught this is the right thing to do so they do it not knowing any better.

Which is fricked up because the schools, which are supposed to set them up for success, are setting them up for failure.

So I am torn on this answer. My immediate answer is that this is a sign of future problems from the hire and I would pass on them. But knowing that they don't know better, I am tempted to give them a pass.

Recently for my board recertification, I had to list what I identified as...after alot of googling because none of it sounded right, I figured out tehy wanted me to put cisgendered male....I almost changed fields

ETA: This was a drop down menu..I had to pick on of their non-sensical titles

I think I would know better than to put that shite on my resume or something similar coming out of school. Show your teacher one resume and then send a real resume to actual employers

At the moment I am more inclined to hire only white males. Not for what they are, but for what they are not.

I've worked with some progressive Bernie Bro white males too. I watched what I said around them.

I would not but there will be plenty of cis-companies out there looking to fill their quota with that kind of prog filth.

My wife (no pics) used to work at a small non profit that made them do this. It was a very PC place.

Sounds like a good way to find your company blasted on twitter when they don't work out well as an employee.

Heck no. Same if they put them on their resume. Not only would I not hire them, they'd never even get an interview.
