Would you give up a decade to spend just a day with a loved one you have lost?

My grandmother who raised me and my brothers has been dead 10 years as of last Saturday. I'd give just about anything to lounge around and cut up for a day with that bird.

I’d give up damn near everything to have another hour with my Brother.

No because that would mean giving up a decade with other loved ones.

If I had a kid, especially a young one, that passed away I would do it without hesitation.

Probably good that it isn't a possibility. A parent would give up every bit of material worth to be able to spend a single day with a deceased child. Then after that day was over the parent would be destitute.

In a way I see this currently happening with medical advancements. 100 years ago if you got pancreatic cancer you just say your goodbyes. Now people spend entire life savings and then some to live a couple more unpleasant years leaving loved ones with nothing.

They aren’t gone gone. Just on another plane.

In dreams we might be able to steal an ephemeral moment. I know that there are dreams where he’s playing with his nieces and nephew and smiling. Laughing. And I want to stay in those dreams forever.

But that’s not how the æther works.

Normally I would say yes, referring to my father. Then I'd think if he would want that for me. He wouldn't. I'll just have to keep hoping I'll see him on the other side.

No, because that would be a decade I'd rob from people who love me.

For my grandma? Absolutely. In a second.

That Diamond Rio song “One more day” gets me all the time, too.

It would fit in this situation. One more day wouldn’t be enough. It would only have you longing for more.
