Worm ‘burgers’ could solve world hunger, scientists claim

NY POST
This might be a not-so-happy meal.
Creepy crawlies could be the key to solving world hunger — by eating them as food.
quote:
Climate change is partially fueled by cow emissions — due to the methane they produce — hence the need for beef substitutes.
For those who aren’t willing to part with their burgers, the scientists might have found a solution with the mealworms: grinding them up and seasoning them to taste just like the real thing.
In fact, the critters are a great source of nutrients the body needs, similar to that of meat, according to researchers, and have been shown to reduce cholesterol and inflammation while improving heart rhythms.
“Insects are a nutritious and healthy food source with high amounts of fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, fiber and high-quality protein — which is like that of meat,” Cho said. “Mealworm contains beneficial essential amino acids and is high in unsaturated fatty acids.”
quote:
Foodies in the EU have included mealworms on their menus for a while now, following research that declared the critters safe to consume. The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization even referred to the insects as “a healthy and highly nutritious food source with a high content of fat, protein, vitamins, fibers and minerals.”
Some progressives feel that beef production is so bad for the environment that it must be shut down. Worms are a suggested replacement.

Nah I’d rather eat red meat and watch the world burn.

"They" won't be eating worms, "they" will continue to eat steaks at your expense.
This is nothing more than a bunch of sadistic elitists seeing how far they can convince the sheep to go to fight ManBearPig.

I’ve a little disturbed that there have been more than a few serious articles suggesting that bugs and worms are viable replacements for meat. It’s like the ruling class is prepping us for the next wave of nonsense they are going to try.

Climate change isn't in my top 20 issues that I care about.

no.
even if everything they said about "climate change" was real and going to happen in the next 10 years.

There must be big money invested in making bugs part of everyday meals. I would love to see the names of the investors.

No thanks, but progs can eat all the worms they want if they feel it will help.
I'll continue eating beef until I die and then the worms can get some payback and eat me. That can be my contribution.

Nope. I'll let God control the fate of the Earth and I'll keep eating meat like he told us we could do.

None for me, thanks.
Climate change is like Covid. It is our leaders, lying to us, and presenting science that is not true, or science. Meanwhile they don't wear the masks they mandate, and go to the grocery store in private jets.

Round them up, Taliban style, put them on streaming and make them eat bugs. Fear is the only thing that will get the Elite in line. That's why the FBI and CIA are actively doing everything in their power to keep the country pissed off and afraid. So we don't say frick it, and storm Martha's Vineyard.

Climate will always change, mean history tells us that. No way in hell I am eating worms in my brief existence on this planet.
