It would seem that Cruise has really downplayed his Scientology since the heyday of him railing against psychiatrists back in 2005, but I would guess he would like to keep some aspects of his life a total secret.

It is a shame that he has that part of his life. The guy really has had an amazing life. How the frick does he look like that at 58?

Before the internet exposed it for what it is, Scientology was the secret society of Hollywood power brokers. They amassed a decent array of members...Cruise, Travolta, Mimi Rogers, the Presleys.

Then the internet made it a laughing stock, Travolta imploded his career with his Scientology passion project Battlefield Earth, and some people actually left...Leah Remini and Mimi Rogers. And then Cruise humiliated himself in 2005.

I think in 2006, he hired a new publicist, and since then, he has never mentioned it in public.

I have been to the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa. Cool building.

If there's a ladder inside the spire that Cruise is sitting on, yes, I would climb to the top of it and have a look around. I wouldn't climb all the way out (where I'm vulnerable to falling) and sit on the edge of it, though, without a harness of some sort.

The Burj Khalifa is the only thing I can think of that looks like it was constructed about 200 years before it's time.

In fact, it and FaceTime are the only things that exist to me that I was led to believe would actually exist today while watching The Jetsons (those f'cking liars) as a young boy.

Fun Fact: you could put the tallest building in New Orleans, (Hancock-Whitney Tower, formerly Shell Square) on top of the second tallest building in the world (Shanghai Tower), and it would still be 93 ft. shorter than the Burj.

I randomly developed a fear of heights around 23. I used to never give a shite about height. So i dont even want to look at that building from the outside

No. Questionable whether I’d even take the elevator to the observation deck. Heights are not my thing.

I imagine the elevator stops somewhere well before the top of the spire. To get to the absolute top, you probably have to climb several hundred feet of ladder.

I’m deathly afraid of heights but for a million I’d give it a try.

Fun fact: When he did that stunt he was older than Wilford Brimley was when he played the retirement home resident in Cocoon.

I have been to the Burj Khalifa and Shanghai Tower. They both make buildings like the Empire State Building and Sears/Willis Tower look unimpressive.
