Stately, timeless residence featuring BIG views is tucked into the hillside, and has flexible rooms for any and every function. 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths with 2 masters and rooms which can be offices, exercise, media, or anything you desire.

Award-winning Eanes schools and downtown Austin are just minutes away. Privacy, breezes and sweeping views provide a dramatic yet peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the nearby city. Wildlife galore and outstanding bird watching abound on the 1-acre lot with native landscaping species and minimal maintenance.

The recently added pool and outdoor entertainment area has something for everyone. Large pool with lights and waterfalls, soaking spa, gas firepit, grilling station, and multiple lounging areas for family and friends. Multiple outdoor living areas, each with a distinct view of nature or hill country, have sitting areas and high quality Ipe-like composite decking. 3-car garage with ample storage, and guest parking pad round out the outdoor features.

Inside the spacious home, recent updates too numerous to list here, but highlights include hardwood floors, updated baths, and custom closets. The primary owner's suite features a spa bath, and her closet has every luxury a lady could want - along with art lighting for her shoe collection. And the views from the owner's suite will inspire you each day! The kitchen opens out to the living room, and both have views to quaint backyard space and desirable limestone hillside. Two of the three living rooms currently function as office and/or exercise spaces - perfect for work from home professionals.

What kind of yearly property taxes are we looking at for something like this? I am pretty sure I can get a similar size home (without the views) on a 12-15K sqft lot for $600-800K in one of the northern Atlanta suburbs like Alpharetta. WTF is going on with Austin?

My sister's home in Austin is valued at $1.8 according to Zillow and it's honestly not that impressive. Nowhere close to the one in the OP. It would be 400-500k in a lesser real estate market.

Westlake Hills was always expensive and now even more so.

Think Drew Brees, Nick Foles and great academics as well.

Agreed. There are nicer homes in Shenandoah than my sister's. Just all about location I guess.

I'm curious how the owner got my prom date's dress.

Even I wasn't successful in getting it off of her.

You’re completely underselling it. It’s a 5,000 square foot home with a 3 car garage, a pool, and amazing views sitting on 1 acre just 6 miles from the heart of downtown Austin.

For that home - no.

I'd take half that and head to the suburbs and grab a nicer house, then fill the garage with some exotic cars.

Plus, if you owned it, your little QB wannabe could go to the same high school that Drew Brees & Nick Foles attended.

ETA: Teddy beat me to the punch.

Crazy in DFW as well....

Buyer had to go $300,000 OVER asking to secure a home..

$3000,000 Over Asking Price

quote:

A real estate broker recently told WFAA-TV (Channel 8) that an agent he knows worked with a buyer who offered $300,000 over the asking price for a Southlake home in the million-dollar range because the property had so many offers.

We are listing our house in a couple weeks (in Austin). You see those stupid fricking guitars and ukulele mounted on every wall? We’re doing that because people here eat it up. None of it makes any sense

Seems low. I have no general knowledge of the Austin real estate market other than it's insane, but my sister lives in a 2900 sq ft house off of Lake Austin Blvd (great location) and it's valued at half of that. I think my house is nicer than hers and mine is worth less than 300k. Granted, I'm in BR
