There are several homes in that area that are owned by companies that use them as group homes for drug rehab and/or mental health residences. Might want to do some research and find out who the neighbors are.

Still a great neighborhood, but it is in BR. So yeah, you have to lock your car doors, get a dog, and secure your backyard. But aside from that, it's great.

Exactly why I left BR. Lived in Sherwood Lakes area & constantly viewed security cameras with POS pulling on door handles every night. PD saying it's not a crime, could not own a boat or anything that was not kept in a locked garage. Sorry that's not living, it's trying to survive.

This is what has ruined my neighborhood in BR in the last 5 years.

I was curious about one up there. Ultimately decided not to pull the trigger due to location and traffic concerns

Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, absolutely. Broadmoor in Baton Rouge, not so much.

I grew up in that neighborhood and it has gotten pretty awful. My mom still lived there until about 15 years ago and it was getting dangerous.

There is one of these homes on my mother’s street. They are very low key for the most part.

Aesthetically speaking, that area of town is pretty ugly and I don’t really see it ever coming back. The whole Broadmoor / Sherwood area started to go to shite in the 2000’s. Zero chance I’d risk buying there.

Yep. For the most part they make for good neighbors except for the sheer amount of coming and going. But decent houses are well maintained, tight curfews, very limited visitors. I’d rather have a halfway house next door than a bunch of college kids.

Broadmoor is a safe, neat and up and coming neighborhood. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy in there for the right house/price/street.

Keep in mind, Broadmoor is about the size of 4 Tara subdivisions and so each “quadrant” has a uniqueness to it depending on the decade it was built in.

Obviously, scout out the other properties and area immediately around the house you are looking at buying because every neighborhood has its problem properties.

Why anyone would buy in Orleans, EBR, or Harris county astounds me.

Liberal shite holes suck.
