Financially I would be fine.
Emotionally I would be a fricking mess judging by what some of my friends have gone through. However, I married the right woman, so this is all hypothetical.

As a recovering addict I very well might be fricked. I'd probably do a bunch of drugs, lose my job, my kids, and eventually my life. I dont so well on my own

Beware to the men who think they married a great woman before she hits menopause. Then when she loses her mind for a year or two, unless she has a solid spiritual faith and strong parents to help ground her, then you will find out she is now a completely different person. Bat shite crazy time. And if she has shite friends, good luck.
I'm close to divorce and if I could spit on her friends and punch them in the face w/o recourse I would do it. They support her adulterous ways maybe because they are all sluts too.
Better make sure your wife's friends are grounded and not anti-man. Good luck on that these days.
Best thing for a man to do is to have multiple private bank accounts and retirement accounts and PO Boxes where mail from those accounts only go to and you only have access to. Protect your anus and finances you never know when the bitch will show up and it will happen.
