Cities are different. NOPD is really good at crowd control and major events, but shitty at most everything else. Livingston is good at jizzing in children’s cupcakes, but shitty at most everything else. Each Department everywhere has special needs, there’s no way to have your idea.

Absolutely not, the last thing needed is to encourage cops to be more like soldiers. There are too many ex military in law enforcement already, it has fostered a us vs the enemy mentality. They already dress in military garb, and act like they are SEAL Team 6.

We don't really have a police problem, we have a too many stupid people problem.
The best and fastest way to fix the police is to re-establish normal standards of behavior for our citizenry.

Of course we do. Too many Napoleons with a badge have been shitbags for decades. Their problem is that they can't get away with it anymore. They can't sweep it under the rug. Portable audio and portable video is the worst thing that has ever happened to the thin blue line.
Mandated body cams for all officers and police videos would go a long way to fixing many of these problems. They know that they are being watched at all times.
