Would Buckwheat survive today?

Would SNL ever consider pushing the envelope and creating a character like Buckwheat today, even if the actor was black?

His singing was the tits.

Yes, I do realize that, but SNL seemed to tip toe the line with him a little more than The Little Rascals did.
