6 beers every night? Yeah that is alcoholic level. Now whether it's "functioning alcoholic" or worse is another question

Yes that is. You keep that regimen for 10 years you’ll have withdrawals, dt’s, and serious liver issues

To most people it is, but I don't think it is. I drink what I want, how much I want, when I want. Don't mind the judgment.

It might be more than what should be ridiculous is dramatic. Alcoholics can consume handles a night, that’s ridiculous

I drank 12 or more beers, or an equivalent amount of hard liquor, daily for about five years.

I decided I needed to cut down to three a day in October 2020. Did that for six months, then cut down to 2-3 per week. Got to the point where I would go weeks without anything.

Fwiw, I always said that alcoholics were “quitters who went to meetings” and that I was a drunkard. And That meant I was a citizen of the world.

I seriously consider myself blessed beyond belief that I was able to overcome what was in my case a habit. There are many who suffer from the disease of alcoholism who cannot simply quit or cut back.

Yes, a six pack every night will eventually lead to associated health issues. How long they take to develop and how severe they are depends on the individual.

You're friend is a raging alcoholic if he drinks a 6-pack every night and is deep denial that he's a drunk.

6 beers a night is child's play. Was a raging alcoholic and cocaine user for over a decade. Case of beer and a pint of vodka/tequila every day for probably the last 4-5 years before I got sober. Luckily I hit the genetic jackpot and my liver and pancreas are fine. Hell If I could stop at 6 beers I'd probably still be drinking.

Idk about the other ones, but I have numerous acquaintances that easily crush more than five sodas a day.

Same here. Every one of them is a fat slob too.

People say they need alcohol to fall asleep but alcohol is one of the worst things for sleep performance/quality.

Also the older I get the more I hate dealing with hangovers I’ll still drink occasionally but before I go to sleep I’m chugging water to flush my system and hydrate

Getting drunk is just borrowing happiness from tomorrow. Eventually the payment comes due.

Right but 6 beers every night is going to lead to health problems, so..

Is it though? Some sort of acute problem of consequence leading directly back to the 6 pack a night? I guess maybe. But not overly convinced of that.

I had a business partner that drank a 12 pack of Bud Light a day. He said he wasn’t an alcoholic, he was committed to Bud Light!

We need to take a field trip down the bayou to get a better feel of true beer alcoholism. Not downing the area, not at all. I wouldn’t do my ancestral motherland that way.

Maybe wet a hook while we’re down? Maybe hit the GI club scene since we’re already there.
