Yes. Atlanta has great suburbs, particularly the northern suburbs. Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Smyrna are all excellent places to live.

Only in areas that anyone with a brain knows not to go.

Intown Atlanta has some really great neighborhoods (Midtown, VaHi, L5P, Inman Park, West Midtown, Kirkwood, Buckhead... just to name a few) and the gentrification going on in other areas is only going to help. The Beltline is one of the largest projects in the country.

The hood is being pushed out quickly by young professionals with deep pockets. Luxury mid and high rises are going up all over the city. Atlanta is a great place to be right now if you can handle the traffic.

LA demographics simply won’t allow the state to grow or prosper the way states such as Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia are. We’re just another Mississippi and it’s about time I realized it. Am I right?

Well said. I think I can handle the traffic if I do my research and don’t make a bad commute choice like some people do. ATL sounds like a good place based on my reading.

Georgia is probably in a different boat from NC and Tennessee in that regard. But Atlanta has a huge black middle class, something states like AL and LA probably don't have.

unfortunately you are right, IMO. I love Louisiana; I truly do. It will always be home and I will hopefully always have roots there. But within a few days of visiting I find myself missing Nashville, badly.

In other words, they have black people who are educated, work for a living and are productive members of society? Wow I wonder what that’s like to have

Coming from the north side, if you dont want to take 400, 85, 75, you have plenty of options to get into the city and not get on the highway.

I'm always coming from the north, or going back north of course. I've not been able to find a feasible route during rush hour. Maybe that's my GPS being a piece of shite.

Have they finalized the I75 express lanes? I

Getting close, but with most large projects the finishing work takes the longest time. They just added the fourth lane on north 400 up in forsyth. Really the 285 major project is going to cause some delays for the next two years or so, but after it will be a dream. But that delay is really going to be for the 285 folks that go sideways around town. The key is live on a straight path to the city, 400, 75, 85 etc..., when you have to go on one of those, then 285, then go on another one of the straight paths, you are going to have a bad day.

Yes

And if you move here, you'll be made aware of it daily by mean black women

The key is living on a good path to your job. Where would your work be located?

Nashville is still very much a white man's town, if I'm being honest. Not an international city at all. Maybe it's the honky tonk vibe, idk.

Not exactly sure yet but I’m confident it wouldn’t be in the heart of Atlanta in downtown or something. It would probably be in one of the suburbs that’s growing like wildfire.

The only way BR traffic will change is if 500,000 people magically disappeared overnight and hundreds of thousands of people every day stopped using I-10 as their main route to get around

The regional transportation priorities need to be as follows:

1. Widen I-10 between the bridge and the split to an 8 lane cross section with shoulders (this is in the works finally).

2. New bridge at Plaquemine Point with a link to I-10 in Grosse Tete and Gonzales (in the works, but may be 15 years away).

3. Widen and improve arteries like US 61, LA30, LA 67, and US 190 throughout EBR, Livingston, Ascension, and E/W Feliciana - including overpasses at rail road crossings and eliminating some left turns with a median.

4. A new Intracoastal crossing at LA415 in WBR (there is a push for this now).

5. New Amite River bridges at Hooper Road and S Harrels Ferry between Livingston and EBR.

6. New east-west road within a half mile south of I-12 between Hammond and Denham Springs tying into S Harrel’s ferry crossing in #4.

Complete those 6 and things will improve a lot....and set the area up for a brighter future. Number 2, 4, and 5 can be tolled routes.

All of those would actually happen if this were Texas or Georgia. Not in this state. Never gonna happen. Maybe one of those 6 would happen but it would take 15 years to get done.

I believe the southern portion of the Peach Pass has already opened. The northern portion on 575 to 75 is ready but I believe parts of it aren't finished on 75. It should be soon though.

Yeah there is still some side construction going on and then you have the 285 project that you will hit, but 75 is cleaning up
