Dogwood in Biloxi is the worst. It is cheap and a good place to practice your short game. Several of the par 4s can be driven.

Abita springs was terrible yesterday. Puffs of weeds all over the greens.

I hate when golf courses exist and the facilities do not have the money to properly keep them up.

Fashion Terrace behind the court house in Hahnville. The only irrigation on the course was a faucet next to each postage stamp green that they hooked a green garden hose and rotary sprinkle to.

The weight of the hose left ruts all over the greens and this plus it looked like they cut them with a hedge trimmer made for some interesting puts.

Oh, and never slice on the third hole as there was a white pit bull chained to a post in the yard next to the green. That bastard could chew through some golf balls.

City Park in NO was awful last year.

Joe Bart was borderline unplayable a month ago because of all the poa annua on them.

NOLA golf sucks.

Thibby,

The course superintendent rolled the dice and didn't overseed with winter rye. Had they not gotten all the rain in Jan/Feb his gamble would have paid off with a better transition when the Bermuda started coming in. But, it didn't work. Thib got 20 inches during the winter.

He assures me they'll be fine when the Bermuda comes out of dormancy. They really had them in awesome shape last fall.

Give it a couple years and the new City Park courses will be good.

Lakewood is always decent.

But yea, unless you belong to MCC or NOCC Nola golf is pretty underwhelming.

Greens like that may help my game!

Seriously though, I'd rather the greens be lush but slow, than fast but...um...not there

Played Quail Valley - Eldorado course last summer in Missouri City, TX. Absolutely horrible. Every green was covered with weed sprigs that were just cut down.

That's a shame for a course that used to hold the Shell Houston Open

St. Joseph Bay Golf Club. They have long grass brushed greens.

Must have been years ago, they've had built in sprinklers at the greens for a good while. Good place to sharpen accuracy on approach shots; greens the size of a large beach towel.

Played it last week and it has improved. Still not the best, but I was able to drain some decent length putts.

The Pea Patch

Groves, TX

Shithole. But a good place to take your kid or a friend who has NEVER played before.

Burned, dead, sanded, hard pan greens that were all knobs like Pinehurst. It was ridiculous. But good for beginners as you were never gonna get a ball to stay on the greens, just chip and putt.

That's good to hear. Usually the greens are decent out there, and for $35 it's hard to really complain too much
